1) TRAINING YEAR
Welcome back Cadets! We are having our first parade night this coming Friday. Unfortunately, at this time we will have to conduct this virtually as we do not have approval to be at Minto yet. We hope that this will change soon, however, in the meantime we will start out training virtually.

2) ANNUAL VALIDATION FORMS
All previously enrolled Cadets have been sent the "Annual Validation Form'. This form MUST be reviewed for completeness and signed by a parent/guardian and returned to the Squadron Office.
- Confirm names/addresses/phone #'s and emails and spellings are correct
- Ensure that there is a Cadet email address in Section 1 (this is a must moving forward)
- Ensure that Section 5 has a "Yes' or 'No' check-marked for the question
- Parent Name and Signature
Completed forms are to be emailed to: 177Air@cadets.gc.ca
** Please inform the office as well, if you are not planning on returning to the Squadron. ***

3) SQUADRON LEVEL 5 WORKSHOP
Thank you to the Level 5 Cadets that were able to attend the Level 5 workshop this past Friday. It was great to see you all and appreciate the dedication you have made to the Squadron. We hope that you learned a lot and were able to reconnect with some of your fellow Cadets.
In summary:
- Your assignment that provided by Capt Ocran & Capt Dionne-St. Vincent is due this Friday. Completed assignments can be emailed to:

- New Level 5 Cadets: You will be receiving 177 RCACS Outlook 365 access information sometime this coming week. Please ensure you check your personal email that you provided regularly.
- Previous Level 5 Cadets: If you had an account last year, it is still active; however, if you need your password reset, please email Lt Gabi Chennells at gabi.chennells@177rcacs.ca or 177Air@cadets.gc.ca and in the subject line enter "Password reset requested - Cadet Name".
- All the presentations and handouts from the workshop will be filed in the 2021 10 01 _Level 5 Workshop folder in MS Teams.
- If anyone requires assistance with navigating MS Teams or Office.com, please let Lt G Chennells know or reach out to another Level 5 cadet to assist you.
Communication is key to a successful Squadron. As Officers and Staff, we will do our best to keep you informed. As we discussed there are many resources and many communication pathways that we use, and it is your responsibility to also keep yourself informed and up-to-date.
REGIONAL LEVEL 5 WORKSHOP (NOV 27 & 28)
This Level 5 workshop is held for all Level 5 Cadets in the Cadet Program (Army, Sea & Air). In order, to pass Level 5, you must attend this mandatory workshop at least once, while you are at this level. This workshop is being held virtually, and you must be registered.
Please inform Lt G Chennells no later than October 29th, so that you can be registered.

4) GLIDER & POWER PILOT GROUND SCHOOL
Cadets that meet the criteria as outlined in the previous announcements and are interested in applying for one of these scholarships, must be registered for the National Ground School Program, no later than Wed, Oct 6. There is no other ground school for these scholarships and applicants must complete the 45 hours and pass the national exam that takes place in Jan 2022.
