Announcements

28 NOV 2020
TRAINING
CLASSES BEGIN AT 1900 HRS SHARP!
Cadets should be starting to log into the classroom approximately 5-10 minutes before so that the Instructor can begin their lesson at 1900 hrs.
If you are late, the Instructors will not re-review the material you missed.

We are currently recording the lessons each night, and are working out a way to have them posted for Cadets to review if late or absent.  More information to come.

TRAINING SCHEDULE CHANGES:
From time to time, the training schedule will change (as it did last week).  It is the Cadet/parent responsibility to read the announcements weekly to see if there are any changes.

FACEBOOK/INSTAGRAM MESSAGES:  Please do not message these apps during parade nights, as they are not monitored for issues. The Officers are either monitoring classrooms or teaching.  If you are having an issue, you can call the Squadron phone or email us.  CI Flook will try to assist you.

Updated Training schedule has been posted.  Please see the link:  Updated - December 2020 Training Schedule

ACCESSING THE MEETING LINKS FROM THE WEBSITE:
We have been experiencing high traffic volumes on Friday nights which is causing the site to crash or not allow users on.
This is due to the high volume of users trying to obtain the meeting links right before classes start.

Solutions:
- Access the meeting links from your email - not the website
- If you need to use the website, please retrieve the link prior to Friday evening when classes begin.
*** Once retrieved from the website, CLOSE the browser page ***
          -  until it is closed it will not free up a spot for another user to access the website, if needed
- Copy and paste the link on your device/calendar for easy access
- The same meeting link is used every week, so once you you have it once, it will be same all the time UNLESS there is a change to the training schedule and a new link will be emailed/posted.

DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD PROGRAM
This past Friday, we had the pleasure of  having a special guest speaker, Ms. Caitlyn Lockhart, to present on the Duke of Edinburgh Award Program.

The 'Duke of Ed' Award program is a global non-formal education and learning framework  which recognizes and celebrates young people's achievements outside of the classroom. The Award allows young people to determine what they are passionate about, regardless of their background, culture or access to resources. By creating opportunities for young people to develop skills, get physically active, give service and experience adventure, the Award can play a critical role in their development.

For more information and how the program works, testimonials of those who are in the program, please go to the website.

Any Cadet that joins or has joined, please inform the office so that we are aware and can assist you with your goals.
