Pan-Canadian Proof of Vaccination Card Requirement
As we navigate in-person activities the Regional Cadet Support Unit (Northwest) is updating how Squadrons and Corps track cadet vaccination status.
Effective immediately we will require proof of vaccination in the form of the Pan-Canadian Proof of Vaccination Card (PVC).
Please have this ready this Friday, 13 May 2022.
This card is required as it shows the dates of vaccinations. We will be inputting the dates of vaccination into Fortress, our Cadet Information Management System.
Individuals who currently have a Manitoba immunization card or are eligible for one can visit https://immunizationcard.Manitoba.ca to request their PVC. It will then be emailed as a PDF, which can be printed or available digitally.
Please bring a copy with you this Friday and the information will be collected at the door by one of the staff members.
Thank you for your assistance.
SENIOR CADETS
1) The May Training Plan has been uploaded to MS Teams under General>Files>Training Schedules.
There are still some classes that require Instructors.
2) Please make sure you have your Level 5 Log Books available (either the paper version or an electronic version) as you will be reviewing this with Capt Dionne-St Vincent.
3) We will be having an Aviation Day on Jun 4th. The brainstorming ideas have been posted on MS Teams under Files. Please review as we will start to plan and organize this coming Friday.
LEVELs 1 & 2: You will be in the range therefore, you can either wear your FTUs (green uniform) or civilian clothes. Do not wear your blue uniform.
SUPPLY:
Please ensure you bring your old uniform parts to exchange for new ones.
1. They must be washed and boots blacken
2. Old rank slips and sewn-ons to be brought back to be exchanged.
3. Please have them in a bag labeled with your name and ideally the sizes you are exchanging for faster processing.
Be prepared to be remeasured for a field uniform if your current uniform does not fit.
When stopping by to see if your uniform is ready please state your first and last name along with your level and sign off for uniform parts before you leave.
Request for Hangers for Supply

Spring Clean is in the air and with that, you may have come across hangers that you no longer need/want.
Please consider donating them to 177 Squadron's Supply.
We are accepting all types of hangers in good condition so please feel free to bring them down with you tonight and year-round.
Please bring your donations of unwanted hangers to the Supply Office.
Let us be eco-friendly and see what we can reuse before we buy new.
Any amount will help.
Thank you!!
CAF Famil "Tech Talks"
The objective is CAF Familiarization (CAF Famil), which is essentially an introduction to as many (Canadian Armed Forces) CAF members in as many occupations as possible. This is the team that ensures the CAF can maintain a strong, secure, engaged national defense policy.
Every “cool job” has many other unseen team members working together to ensure their operational effectiveness. Every team member is essential, there are no “spare people” in the CAF. As these episodes are for general familiarization, they are open to all elements.
The Next upcoming Tech Talks is Thursday 19 May 2022
CAF Famil “Tech Talks” episode Thursday, 19th May, will feature soldiers from The Queens Own Cameron Highlanders, an Infantry regiment in Winnipeg. They will also be showcasing some equipment typically used during normal Infantry dismounted operations.
The infantry corps are those soldiers who actually seize and hold ground. As part of a general CAF familiarization, this presentation will highlight the many potential tasks CAF members in the Infantry can be expected to do, and the teamwork required to accomplish the mission. The guest presenter(s) will discuss their career, training, and typical deployments the unit has been involved with, and showcase some equipment and tools of the trade. The overall message, as always, is CAF Teamwork and Safety.
