TRAINING:
We are resuming in-person training this week.
Due to being in a Federally-run building and the CAF requirements, we must follow the following rules until further notice (regardless of Provincial PHO):

Please ensure you review the Training Schedule posted on the website, as we are splitting up the training over 2 locations (Minto Armoury and Commissionaires Building).
MARCH 11:
Minto Armoury: 969 St. Matthews Ave - LEVELS 3, 4 & 5
Commissionaires Building: 870 Portage Ave - LEVELS 1 & 2
LEVEL 3 & 4 ASSESSMENTS
As discussed that last week's training night, beginning March 18, we will begin the assessments for Instructional Techniques - Instruct A Lesson.
The rubrics and resources for each of your levels in located on the website under:

1) Ensure that you are ready to instruct your lesson that you chose.
2) A copy of your Lesson Plan is required to be handed in.
3) If you need any resources (photocopying, instructional aids) or assistance - please email your Level Officer at 177air@cadets.gc.ca and be clear on what you require.
4) For any Cadets that missed last week's training night, you will have the opportunity to discuss with your Level Officer on Mar 11.
DRESS CODE:
We realize that many Cadets do not have a uniform yet or have parts that need to be replaced as they are too small.
Please be patient as Capt Ocran and Capt Dionne-St. Vincent are working hard to put these together.
If you do not have a uniform and need to wear civilian attire, it must uphold a positive and professional image of the Squadron and the entire Canadian Cadet Movement.
- Sleepwear (pyjama pants, slippers, etc.), joggers, leggings is discouraged
- Pants should not have rips, holes or stained
- No graphic, imagery or slogans on t-shirts or sweatshirts
- Female cadets must tie their hair back (pony tail, braids, etc.) or wear their hair up and must be neat and tidy
- Hair style and colour must not be bizarre, exaggerated, or unusual in appearance.
- A combination of issued uniform parts and civilian clothing is not permitted.
If you are wearing your uniform, it must be according to the required dress standard.

CADET SUMMER TRAINING/ STAFF CADET APPLICATIONS:

What does that look like?
Cadet Activity Programs (CAP)
CAP will be delivered locally for cadets in levels one and two. The programming will be managed by the Regional Commanding Officers, offering expanded opportunities for Cadets across Canada.
Cadet Training Centre (CTC) Training
Courses offered to cadets who have completed their third year of training, or higher, hosted at Cadet Training Centres (CTC). Courses range in length from 2-7-weeks and take place at CTC locations across the country.
Cadet Advisory Council (CAC)
Following the success of the CAC in 2021, an in-person opportunity will take place in 2022 and will be hosted by the Commander, Cadets, and Junior Canadian Rangers, at two CTCs, over a six-week training period. This group will provide the opportunity for the Commander and senior staff at the headquarters to engage directly with a group of senior cadets from across the country on a variety of cadet program-related topics.

ABSENCES
A reminder that if you are unable to attend a class, you still must complete the Absence Request Form on the website. In addition, excused absences still count against your attendance percentage. In order to be promoted or pass your level at the end of the year, your attendance must be ≥
60%. You may be required to conduct make-up classes or additional training if you do not meet this requirement.
