COMMANDING OFFICER'S WELCOME MESSAGE

UNIFORMS
ALL Air Cadets will now be issued a Field Training Uniform (FTU) which will be worn for all regular training activities and field training exercises. The initial issue will consist of an FTU shirt, FTU trousers and FTU boots.  ALL CADETS MUST COMPLETE THE MEASUREMENT SURVEY IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THIS NEW UNIFORM.  Extras will not be kept in Supply due to limited space.

COMMUNICATION WITH OFFICE STAFF
We have has some issues lately with identifying individuals over emails.  Often, the only the email address appears in the 'From' section, and we cannot identify the individual(s).  Please use the following steps when emailing the staff so that your email can be addressed properly and in a timely manner.  Remember, this is an email - not a text message.  

1) Please communicate with the Squadron Staff using the following email address: 177Air@cadets.gc.ca

2) In the subject line, please add in who the email is for.  This will assist the staff in identifying action items for them.

Example:  

3) Please ensure you are using the staff's correct rank and title
Example:
"Dear Capt Ducharme" or "Dear Sir or Ma'am" or "Dear Mr. Mills"

4) Identify yourself (if you are parent, please state you Cadet's name).  
     Please be clear and concise as possible regarding your issue/question.

5) End your email with your full name and if you are a Cadet, your rank.

TRAINING
MANDATORY - COVID-19 AWARENESS COURSE
All Cadets MUST complete the COVID-19 Awareness course prior to any in-person activities.  A copy of the completed certificate is to be emailed to the Squadron email address so that we can track who has completed it.  You will not be allowed to enter Minto or do any in-person activities without this completed and confirmed by the office.

When submitting your certificate enter the following in the subject line:  COVID-19 Certificate_Cadet Rank & Full Name

Agenda: Lt R Chennells will be going over the training year and the senior cadets' responsibilities. 
Dress Code: Cadets are to wear their uniform

1) If you are not planning on returning to the Cadet program this year, please send an email to Mrs. Flook (177Air@cadets.gc.ca) informing her so that we can update our files.

2) If you have had an email, address or phone number change since March, please send an email to Mrs. Flook so that we can update our files.
