Thanks to everyone who attended the AGM on September 24, 2021. As mentioned, we need new committee members to take over for the next two year term. You will have all the support that you need and the squadron really benefits from the participation of all the parents.
The executive meets once a month and discusses squadron business. We assist with fundraising and various squadron programs including marksmanship, effective speaking, canteen, awards, and the Annual Ceremonial Review. We also have a monthly Parents meeting. It takes about one hour per week of your time on average.
Chair Person The chair conducts meetings, assists with volunteer screening, reports to the CO and Manitoba Air Cadet League, and assists with all committees. The chair also signs cheques and participates in promotion boards.
Vice Chair The vice chair fills in when the chair is not available. The vice chair also can sign cheques.
Treasurer The treasurer keeps track of income and expenses on a spreadsheet (ACC-9) which is sent for auditing to the Air Cadet League by August 31 and maintains the squadron’s annual charitable status with the CRA. The treasurer also signs cheques.
Secretary This person keeps minutes of meetings and distributes them to the parents. Also keeps copies of important documents such as Constitution, insurance, etc. You may also be asked to update the calendar on our website – https://177rcacs.ca/
Canteen This person keeps the canteen stocked and supervises the canteen which runs from 7:45 to 8:15pm. This person may have volunteers to help.
Awards The awards person orders awards to be ready for presentations throughout the year and at the ACR.
Fundraising The fundraising chair helps to raise money to help pay for extra activities.
Members at Large We usually look for 3 members to be available to help out with the canteen, fundraising, etc
