Week of Oct 25th, 2019
TRAINING
GLIDING (OCT 27) – Cadets should arrive at Minto no earlier than 0700 and No later than 0715.  Parents should not leave until the bus has left in the event there are delays or issues.  Lunch is provided.  Refer to the permission slip for dress and other information.  
Parent pick up is at 1700 hrs at Minto.  

"THEY WILL NOT GROW OLD" Film Viewing
A number of Cadets have been chosen to attend a special viewing of the World War I filmography at 17 Wing on Nov 8th.  Click HERE
for the details of the event.  The following Cadets have been chosen to attend:

Transportation is to be provided by the parent. 

LEVEL 5 WORKSHOP (NOV 22 - 24)
THERE IS A CHANGE TO THE DATES OF THE WEEKEND .  IT IS NOW NOV 22 - 24. 
MANDATORY for Level 5s who have not already completed a workshop previously.

GROUND SCHOOL (SQUADRON ONLY)
Every Saturday morning beginning Oct 5th.  
0900 - 1100 hrs at Minto (Room 18)
Open to all Cadets that are interested in learning about aviation in preparation to obtaining a Glider or Power Pilot license. 
Anyone who has a "From the Ground Up" book from previous classes, please return it to Capt. Ocran or Lt Chennells. 
 

POPPY SALES
Nov 2 & 3, Nov 9 & 10; 
Poppies are to be worn with uniform.
Superstore on Gateway Blvd & Sobey's on Henderson Hwy
Sign-up sheets are now available;
Cadets to see FSgt McAllister & FSgt Ihozo to sign-up for shifts.
Shifts are 3 hours in duration.
All shifts need to be filled next week.
Cadets must be supervised by a parent during their shift.


RANGE
Every Thursday; 1800 - 2100 hrs
Open to all Cadets interested in learning the Air Rifle.
No Range on Oct 31 or Nov 7
Dress: Civilian

PIPE BAND
PRACTICES
Every Saturday 1000 - 1200 hrs at Minto.
Instruction provided by Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders

DRILL TEAM
Begins Oct 20th.
1300 - 1500 hrs at Minto.

ADMINISTRATION
Annual Verifications must be completed and handed in to CI Flook in the office, before Cadet can do any activities (FTX, Drill, Range) with the Squadron. We are still missing quite a few of these.  
 
Reminder that if you are not coming to Cadets you must call or email the office in order to be considered excused by the Thursday evening prior.   
 
Office Hours: 1800 – 2045 hrs on Fridays only

DRESS CODE
If you are not in uniform you must wear pants (no sweats, yoga pants, track pants, etc) and a collared shirt (no graphic t-shirts).
These must be in clean and presentable condition (no rips, stains etc). 
No hoodies, however, sweaters may be worn (no graphics).
Hair longer than your shoulders must be worn up in a bun.

ARRIVAL & PICK-UP
Cadets should not arrive prior to 1800 hrs as the doors to the building may not be unlocked and there may not be Officers present to take responsibility of your child.
Cadets are to be picked up no later than 2130 hrsParents are asked to come inside at 2100hrs to hear any announcements that are given at the end of the evening.
