Week of Oct 4th, 2019

DRESS CODE
If you are not in uniform you must wear pants (no sweats, yoga pants, track pants, etc) and a collared shirt (no graphic t-shirts).
These must be in clean and presentable condition (no rips, stains etc).
No hoodies, however, sweaters may be worn (no graphics).
Hair longer than your shoulders must be worn up in a bun.

ARRIVAL & PICK-UP
Cadets should not arrive prior to 1800 hrs as the doors to the building may not be unlocked and there may not be Officers present to take responsibility of your child.
Cadets are to be picked up no later than 2130 hrs. Parents are asked to come inside at 2100hrs to hear any announcements that are given at the end of the evening.

TRAINING
GLIDING (OCT 27) – Permission Slips will be available after Parade and on the website. Must be returned by Fri, Oct 18th . If you have already attended the last gliding day, you are not required to go again, in order to make sure that everyone has a chance to go. We can only take the first 40 Cadets that return slips.

LEVEL 5 WORKSHOP (NOV 15 - 17)
MANDATORY for Level 5s who have not already completed a workshop previously.
Transportation provided; travel will take place on the evening of Nov 15, return will be the afternoon of Nov 17.
Meals & accommodations are provided.

GROUND SCHOOL (SQUADRON ONLY)
Every Saturday morning beginning Oct 5th.
0900 - 1000 hrs at Minto (Room 18)
Open to all Cadets that are interested in learning about aviation in preparation to obtaining a Glider or Power Pilot license.
For Cadets aged 16 or older, there is a Local Area Ground School that takes place Wednesday nights. If interested please email 177Air@cadets.gc.ca (Subject Line: Local Area Ground School)

MARKSMANSHIP
Every Thursday evening beginning Oct 3rd.
1800 - 2100 hrs at Minto in Range 2.

Dress: Civilian

PIPE BAND
PRACTICES
Every Saturday morning beginning Oct 5th.
1000 - 1200 hrs at Minto.
Instruction provided by Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders

BAND CLINIC (Pipe Band only)
Nov 22 - 24th

DRILL TEAM
Begins Oct 13th.
1300 - 1500 hrs at Minto.

ADMINISTRATION
Annual Verifications must be completed and handed in to CI Flook in the office, before Cadet can do any activities (FTX, Drill, Range) with the Squadron. We are still missing quite a few of these.

Reminder that if you are not coming to Cadets you must call or email the office in order to be considered excused by the Thursday evening prior.

PARENT SPONSORING COMMITTEE
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (OCT 11)
ALL parents are requested to attend.
The Parent Sponsoring Committee Executive will be reviewing their function and role within the Squadron.
It is also an election year, and the Executive are looking for parents to join one of the many executive positions.
